Brandy Chaneb, Ph.D., HSPP, CAS. Licensed Psychologist
DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES, AUTISM DIAGNOSING ADVISOR AND PARENT ADVISOR
Dr. Chaneb is a Licensed Psychologist, Certified Autism Specialist, and Director of Clinical Services at Hazelwood Center ICF/ID in Louisville, Kentucky. She is also a private practice clinician with Shelby Counseling Associates. As a clinician and parent of a child with autism, Dr. Chaneb is an involved family and community advocate. Dr. Chaneb earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. She is also a member of the Kentucky Advisory Council on Autism. She is a contributing author and reviewer for the Journal of Child and Family Studies and Advances in Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Dr. Chaneb has also served as a contributor for studies published in the International Journal of Bipolar Disorders, Clinical Gerontologist, and The Gerontologist. Dr. Chaneb is the author of a book chapter appearing in Handbook of Evidence-Based Practices for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (2016, New York, NY: Springer). She has had extensive clinical application and research experience as a member of the Mood Disorders Research Program in the UofL School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry as well as the Gerontology Research Group in the UofL Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. Dr. Chaneb has also served as a consultant for the Ministry of Health throughout Central America and has provided workshops for hospitals, clinics, teachers, and students. Her clinical and research interests include holistic and interdisciplinary treatment of developmental disabilities and psychiatric disorders as well as effects and implications of pharmacological interventions. Dr. Chaneb believes in a person-centered treatment approach and utilizes a variety of treatment modalities to ensure clients can reach his or her goals in the most effective manner.
