Featured Certificant: Jen M. Jen M. Certified Autism Travel Professional™ (CATP), Travel planner at Magical Dream Journeys What’s your favorite part about what you do? “So many families are nervous to take their autistic children on vacations. I absolutely love helping these families know that they can go on incredible vacations with the right tools. Helping these families navigate the Disney and Universal parks so that their children feel safe and have fun is such a joy!” How has your IBCCES training/credential helped you in your career? “The training by IBCCES has greatly helped me connect with families of autistic children. There are very few resources in my area, and I have had many families reach out to ask for assistance. As a result of my training, our local paper ran a story about me becoming a Certified Autism Travel Professional™. Additionally, the local TV station invited me to do an on-air segment about the support available for families traveling with autistic children.” How do you use/implement what you learned in the IBCCES certification training? “I have a background in teaching and have worked with many autistic children. The tools provided by IBCCES during and after training are what I share with the families I work with. I can point out the sensory guides available at Disney and Universal Parks for reference, as well as provide information about the IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC) that help families with autistic children navigate the parks more easily.” Be Featured!
