The Student Mental Health Certificate meets requirements for federal funding such as Title I, Title II, IDEA and CARES stimulus funding (must be spent by Dec 30, 2020).
The Student Mental Health Certificate (SMHC) program was created by a team of experts, including international leaders in the educational field, Tier 1 University researchers, master educators, and clinical professionals. The program is designed based on feedback from your peers and leaders in education to address the most-needed training topics for special education and general education teachers, as well as paraprofessionals.
The SMHC training provides relevant strategies and best practices so educators can recognize and assist students struggling with mental health and distance learning, particularly during heightened periods of anxiety and depression due to COVID-19. The SMHC will enable educators to better understand common signs and symptoms of mental health concerns so they can help students access professional help, as well as manage behaviors and attention during virtual learning sessions.
