Re: Ann Robinson’s research reviews—4 May 2023
Dear Editor,
The query cum suspicion posed in the matter of Chatbots may have a few differing answers; the threat, if so perceived, is apparently real. Welcomed by some as revolutionary, applications are already in place for tasks mundane with proven utility at that. Doubts on usage in clinical diagnosis and decision making have been raised. Clinical precision may be time consuming, much dependent on laboratory / imaging work up, often in a sequential manner. For early clinical bedside diagnosis, it is stated that collation matters as much (Betz cells / corpus callosal functions). Outsourcing human cognition, ideation, and conclusion can appear appealing and facilitating, but it may remain imperfect in certain spheres of human endeavor.
