Dear Editor,

While the study had some strengths, such as its large sample size and long follow-up period, there are also several limitations that should be taken into consideration.

One limitation is the predominantly white population of US health professionals that the study was conducted on, which may limit the generalizability of the findings to other populations with different demographic and lifestyle characteristics. Additionally, the reliance on self-reported dietary information may introduce measurement errors and recall bias, potentially leading to bias in the results.

Furthermore, the study’s adjustments for confounding variables may not have fully accounted for residual confounding from unknown factors, such as physical activity levels, which could influence the association between beverage consumption and mortality.

Lastly, the study did not investigate the effects of different preparation methods, additives, or other factors that may influence the health effects of beverages, which could impact the overall dietary and lifestyle patterns of the participants.

These limitations should be considered in future research. Thank you for considering my comments.
