The digital IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC) is a free resource for individuals with cognitive disorders or physical impairments to register to receive helpful accommodations or benefits that certified attractions might provide. The IAC registration system provides third party verification and storage of all documentation needed to be eligible for certain special needs accommodations or benefits. The system is designed to identify accommodations or benefits that an individual might be interested in but in no way guarantees these benefits. Benefits and accommodations provided will vary based on each individual attraction and are at the sole discretion of the attraction.
Attractions are often put in the difficult situation of trying to provide special programs and benefits to their guests with special needs while also making sure that those benefits aren’t abused. Heightened awareness of autism and other disorders has also created a surge in abuse of benefits offered to these families. The IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC) was created as a part of The Certified Autism Center Program to help alleviate this problem.
