Boomers Boca Raton Earns Certified Autism Center™ Designation

Boomers Boca Raton Implements Specialized Training to Better Serve Guests

Boomers Boca Raton, a beloved local family entertainment center, is thrilled to announce that it has achieved the prestigious Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) designation, accredited by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This achievement underscores Boomers Boca Raton’s unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals.

To attain the CAC designation, Boomers Boca Raton, has undergone a rigorous process, including the following significant steps:

Comprehensive Staff Training: Boomers Boca Raton has gone the extra mile to ensure that 80% of its guest-facing team members have completed evidence-based training. This training not only equips the team with essential skills but also incorporates autistic individuals’ perspectives. As a result, Boomers Boca Raton’s team is prepared to assist and accommodate autistic and sensory-sensitive guests.

Onsite Assessments and Sensory Guides: IBCCES conducted a thorough onsite assessment of Boomer Boca Raton’s attractions. This assessment led to the creation of a sensory guide, which offers invaluable insight into how each attraction may impact the five senses. This resource empowers guests to plan their visit with confidence, tailored to their unique sensory sensitivities.

Enhanced Safety and Communication: Safety is paramount at Boomers Boca Raton. To ensure the well-being of all guests, including those with sensory sensitivities, team members have received position-specific training that will enhance safety current measures and improve communication.

As a Certified Autism Center™, Boomers Boca Raton now offers various accommodations and resources for guests with sensory sensitivities, including a sensory guide and low sensory area. Brandon, VP of Operations at Boomers Parks went on to state, “Offering sensory guides is a crucial part of our mission to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all our guests. We are aware of the challenges visitors may encounter when exploring new places, and we’re firmly committed to removing those barriers, positively impacting the communities we serve.”

Boomers Boca Raton’s achievement in becoming a Certified Autism Center™, reflects a growing awareness and commitment to making entertainment options accessible to all guests, including those who are autistic and have sensory sensitives. “IBCCES takes great pride in welcoming Boomers Boca Raton into our expanding network of Certified Autism Centers™,” states Myron Pincomb, chairman of the IBCCES board. “By earning this designation, Boomers Parks has taken a significant step towards ensuring that everyone, regardless of their individual needs, can enjoy the magic of a family entertainment center.”
