What’s your favorite part about what you do?

I love building relationships with the children I have the privilege to serve. It is such an honor to be on so many different, individualized, journeys and to assist in the facilitation of growth. The look on a child’s face or a caregiver’s when a child has been able to accomplish a milestone is priceless!

How has your IBCCES training/credential helped you in your career?

The IBCCES training I’ve received has helped me apply what I’ve learned about autism in my sessions. I love that the courses are individualized and specific towards the trainee’s discipline/occupation.

How do you use/implement what you learned in the IBCCES certification training?

The training I got during my AAC program was really helpful. Many of the kids I work with go to ABA clinics, and this training gave me a good understanding of the ABA approach. It also provided useful tips for anyone working with kids in an ABA setting. I was particularly excited about the individualized OT training focused on sensory aspects. I use a lot of the strategies I learned from this training in my daily work.
