Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, SeaWorld Orlando announced that it has been designated as a certified autism center by The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). SeaWorld Orlando joins Aquatica Orlando and Discovery Cove to become the first family of parks, in the world’s leading theme park destination, to be certified.

Wonders of Wildlife and Dogwood Canyon Nature Park become Certified Autism Centers on World Autism Awareness Day

Designation reflects enhanced efforts to serve individuals with autism and other sensory needs

In honor of World Autism Day on April 2, 2019, The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) has designated Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium and Dogwood Canyon Nature Park as Certified Autism Centers (CAC). The designation is awarded to organizations who have completed professional training and review processes with the goal to better serve individuals with autism and other sensory needs.

PADI and IBCCES Team Up to Help Dive Shops Better Serve People and Families with Special Needs

PADI and the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) announce a collaboration to bring the Certified Autism Center program to PADI Dive Centers and Resorts. The Certified Autism Center designation recognizes businesses trained in autism sensitivity and awareness, and which go above and beyond to better serve customers with autism and other cognitive disorders. The alliance will make IBCCES training and certification available to PADI Dive Centers and Resorts.

Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe officially recognized as a Certified Autism Center

Mall of America (MOA) and Nickelodeon Universe, the seven-acre theme park inside MOA, will now officially be recognized as a Certified Autism Center (CAC), granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). As the first destination in Minnesota to become a Certified Autism Center, the certification means that visitors and families with children who have autism and other sensory disorders can enjoy the best possible experience while visiting MOA that caters to their needs.

The Mosaic School in Axtell, Neb. becomes first Certified Autism Center in the state

The Mosaic School in Axtell recently became the first Certified Autism Center in the state of Nebraska. The school joins four other learning and tutoring centers in the country with this designation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

The designation indicates that at least 80 percent of staff have been trained and certified in autism and are committed to ongoing training. Mosaic went a step further; when we earned the designation, 100 percent of staff at the school qualified as certified autism specialists.

Sebastian Riding Associates Earns Certified Autism Center Designation

Sebastian Riding Associates has earned the designation of Certified Autism Center (CAC) to help ensure children and adults on the autism spectrum have the best possible experience when receiving equine assisted therapy from the nonprofit. It is the first of its kind in the nation to receive the certification.

The designation, awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), indicates that at least 80% of the staff have been trained and certified in autism, as well as a commitment to ongoing training. For Sebastian Riding Associates (SRA), this also meant training long-time volunteers who work with staff to provide services.
