The community center staff have completed a training and certification program to build upon their ability to educate and help socialize children with special needs through the exploration of the arts, music, sensory movement and life.

Since its opening, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has developed and provided a host of programs, classes and camps to serve individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Now the arts center has taken its passion and work to serve this community to the next level by earning the Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) designation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). It is one of only two performing arts centers in the nation to receive this certification.
Turning Pointe Autism Foundation’s Adult Services – funded by Foglia Family Foundation – is now a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC), a designation granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). The designation means that staff have completed additional autism-specific training and certification program through an internationally recognized provider, IBCCES.
The Santa Barbara Zoo continues to expand their inclusion and accessibility efforts. The Zoo earned their Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) designation in 2018, and since then has extended their efforts to welcome all guests.
College Bound AZ, which serves as a bridge to high school seniors with special needs and their families, recently pursued the Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) designation to enhance their ability to assist students with autism or other sensory needs.
