Discover The Palm Beaches, the official tourism marketing  organization for Palm Beach County, Florida, proudly announces the implementation of an accessibility  program aimed at bettering the community’s preparedness to welcome all travelers, no matter their  ability level. The accessibility plan focuses on enhancing information and resources through strategic  partnerships and assessments with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education  Standards (IBCCES), Wheel the World and Travelability. The goal is to help the destination improve  accessibility for all travelers by identifying places to stay and things to do, educating partners and  providing resources for adaptability.

Many local organizations have made the commitment to become Certified Autism Centers™ (CAC) to make High Point a more inclusive destination to live, work and play.

High Point has become the first Certified Autism Destination™ (CAD) on the east coast and the second CAD in the United States. This distinction is awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) and recognizes High Point’s commitment to making its attractions, hotels, restaurants, and public spaces accessible and welcoming to autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals and their families.

Visalia, California, Becomes First Certified Autism Destination

With the growing demand from travelers for accessibility and inclusion, Visalia has taken steps to ensure visitors have
multiple trained and certified options to choose from

Through an initiative started by Visit Visalia, in partnership with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), Visalia is now the first city to achieve the Certified Autism Destination™ designation. This designation is granted by IBCCES to communities where multiple attractions, lodging, and entertainment options have completed a training and certification process to ensure autistic or sensory-sensitive visitors have a positive experience. Becoming a CAD will help Visit Visalia in its mission to encourage travelers to choose Visalia as a destination and differentiate it from other options in the area.

Dubai Announces Initiative to Become First Certified Autism Destination™ in Middle East North Africa Region

Specialized training will be provided to attractions and resorts as a first step to welcome autistic and sensory-sensitive visitors from all over the globe and start the journey towards certification that will has a lasting impact

 

Dubai, UAE — December 15, 2022 — Dubai is taking steps to enhance the destination’s accessibility and inclusion for travelers from all over the world to the next level. The Dubai Economy and Tourism department is spearheading this movement with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to designate the first-ever Certified Autism Destination™ (CAD) outside the United States. The first phase of this initiative means all Dubai attractions, hospitality and entertainment organizations will have access to specialized autism-specific training designed to enhance staff knowledge, understanding and strategies for communication, guest experience and safety to better serve and accommodate people of determination.
